Subscription, Billing, Trial and Cancellation Terms

Last updated: 25 March 2026

These Subscription, Billing, Trial and Cancellation Terms form part of the VoxPolitica Terms of Use.

1. Plans and pricing

VoxPolitica currently offers the following paid self-serve subscription plans:

  • Supporter: £2 per month;
  • Professional: £25 per month.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically on a monthly basis until cancelled.

We may also offer bespoke or enterprise arrangements on separate written terms.

2. What each plan includes

Features vary by plan and may change from time to time.

  • the Supporter plan includes supporter dashboard access, saved searches, exports, and account/billing tools; and
  • the Professional plan includes professional dashboards, advanced search/filtering tools, saved searches, exports, and account/billing tools.

Current plan descriptions shown on the website form part of the description of the service.

3. Billing provider

Checkout, recurring billing, payment processing, invoices, and self-service billing management are handled through Stripe.

By purchasing a subscription, you also agree to comply with Stripe’s applicable customer-facing terms and payment requirements.

4. When billing starts

Supporter

Supporter subscriptions are paid monthly and do not include a free trial unless we expressly say otherwise on the pricing or checkout page.

Professional

Professional subscriptions may include a 7-day free trial for eligible new direct sign-ups. If a trial is offered and you do not cancel before the trial ends, the Professional subscription will automatically convert into a paid monthly subscription at the stated price.

5. Trial eligibility

A free trial is available only where expressly offered by VoxPolitica and only for eligible accounts.

A trial may be withheld, shortened, cancelled, or disallowed if we reasonably believe:

  • the account has already received the same or a similar trial;
  • a user is attempting to obtain repeated free access through duplicate or replacement accounts;
  • the user is upgrading from an existing paid Supporter subscription; or
  • there is fraud, abuse, or other misuse.

6. Upgrades

If you already hold a Supporter subscription and upgrade to Professional:

  • the upgrade is processed in place against your existing subscription where technically supported;
  • no new free trial applies to that upgrade;
  • Stripe may apply prorations in accordance with your billing configuration and Stripe’s billing logic; and
  • your billing date and charges may change accordingly.

7. Auto-renewal

Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next billing date.

By purchasing a subscription, you authorise Stripe to charge the payment method associated with your subscription for recurring charges and any applicable taxes.

8. Price changes

We may change subscription prices from time to time.

If we change the price of an existing recurring subscription, we will give affected subscribers advance notice before the new price takes effect.

9. Cancellation by you

You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe billing portal or by contacting billing@voxpolitica.co.uk.

Unless we expressly state otherwise:

  • cancellation stops future renewal charges;
  • your subscription normally remains active until the end of the current paid billing period; and
  • after that point, paid access ends or becomes restricted.

If you cancel a Professional trial before the first paid charge is taken, the subscription should end without the first monthly paid fee being charged.

10. Cooling-off rights for consumers

If you are a consumer, UK law may give you a 14-day cancellation right for distance contracts.

Where your paid digital service starts immediately at your request during that 14-day period, you expressly request immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that, to the extent permitted by law:

  • we may supply the service immediately;
  • if you cancel during the cancellation period after supply has started, you may have to pay a proportionate amount for the service already supplied; and
  • your statutory rights depend on the legal structure of the subscription and the service already provided.

Nothing in these terms limits any cancellation or refund rights you are entitled to under mandatory consumer law.

To exercise a statutory cancellation right, contact billing@voxpolitica.co.uk.

11. Refunds

Except where required by law, or where we expressly agree otherwise:

  • subscription fees are non-refundable once charged;
  • we do not provide pro-rated refunds for unused time in a billing period after cancellation; and
  • free/public access is not refundable because it is not paid.

Nothing in these terms affects mandatory refund rights under consumer law.

12. Failed payments and grace period

If a payment fails, VoxPolitica or Stripe may retry payment collection in accordance with your billing configuration and processor logic.

If payment remains outstanding:

  • the subscription may become past due, incomplete, unpaid, expired, or cancelled;
  • access to paid features may be suspended, restricted, or withdrawn; and
  • VoxPolitica operates a grace period of up to 7 days.

We may change the operational handling of grace periods from time to time, provided this does not override mandatory rights you may have by law.

13. Downgrade, lapse, and expiry behaviour

If a paid subscription ends, expires, is cancelled, or lapses:

  • access to paid dashboards, higher limits, and other subscriber-only features may end or become restricted;
  • your account may remain active as a non-paying account unless deleted;
  • saved searches, export history, and related account records may remain stored for a period in accordance with the Privacy Policy; and
  • we may later delete or anonymise associated account data under our retention policy.

14. Duplicate or improper subscriptions

We may refuse, block, reverse, or require manual review of duplicate, overlapping, or otherwise improper subscription purchases.

Where an account already has a current subscription, we may redirect the user to billing management or an upgrade flow instead of allowing a second checkout.

15. Chargebacks and payment disputes

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute, we may suspend access to paid services while the matter is investigated.

We reserve the right to provide relevant account and billing records to the payment processor or card issuer to contest improper chargebacks.

16. Taxes

Prices shown on the website are stated in GBP unless stated otherwise.

Taxes will be charged where legally required.

17. Billing support

For billing help, cancellation assistance, invoice questions, or trial/refund questions, contact billing@voxpolitica.co.uk.
